If you have popup blocking software installed, or Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed, the columns and cross sections may not come up. You may get a message on the lower bar of the browser that indicates a popup has been blocked. If this happens, press the CTRL key when you click the point, and this should override the popup blocker.

Navigating the IMS - Using the Buttons

(Note, these instructions may be viewed at any time by clicking the Help at the top left on the IMS)

Use this to zoom in to an area. Click the button so that it is active (the background of the button will turn orange) and then click and hold the left mouse button down on the map. Then drag the mouse to form a rectangle around the area you wish to zoom into. Finally, release the mouse button and the map will redraw, zoomed into the area you selected.

Click this button to zoom out. This is accomplished the same way as zooming in above, except that the end result is a map showing more area. Click the button so that it is active (the button background will be orange when active) and then click and hold the left mouse button down on the map. Then drag the mouse to form a rectangle around the area you wish to zoom out around. Finally, release the mouse button and the map will redraw, zoomed out.

Clicking this button will zoom out to the full extent of the State.

This button causes the previous view to display. For example, if you start the viewer and zoom in to the Rock Springs area, then you click this button, the display will return to the full view of the Green River Basin.

When you click this button, you will be able to move the map around. The scale will stay the same, ie, you will not zoom in or out, but you will be able to drag the map so that you can see other parts.

Selecting this button lets a user retrieve information for a Public Water Supply System using data from the Wyoming Water Development Commission's Survey of PWS'. Activate the button, then click on the a community symbol to display the information.

The following three buttons allow the user to retrieve data for US Geological Survey Stream Gages, Natural Resources Conservation Service SnoTels, and National Weather Service Cooperative Observer stations. Activate the button of choice, and then click on the corresponding symbol on the map at a location of information.
